You can work in various jobs and job fields; studying physics teaches various skills, including skills in effective problem solving. This makes a physics degree very relevant for jobs outside of physics. Research jobs are usually paid E 13 and are mostly temporary; there are very few non-permanent positions. If you want to go into teaching at an university, you should also aim for a habilitation.

This is about the student council's introductory event, the bridging course, at the beginning of October (which you should definitely attend!). Independently of this, there is also a preliminary mathematics course at the department of physics in September, you can find out more about this here. The mathematics preliminary course is aimed at everyone who has deficits in school mathematics. The bridging course then largely explicitly presupposes this content, see below.
For old exams, please send an email to fachini@physik.hu-berlin.de and ask about a specific subject (title, semester, name of the teacher). Prior coordination among the respective students of a year regarding the distribution of the exams is welcome.
Since it is important to us to make our inventory of exams as up-to-date and attractive as possible, we always need up-to-date exams from you.
The student meeting center engine test stand short "MoPS", lies in the heart of the campus and in the center of student life at the campus. Here you can find fairly traded coffee, tea, sodas, beer, chocalates bars and cookies at affordable prices. In the summer, the balconies and the lawn in front invite yout to linger. Student parties also take place at MoPS every semester. Since the summer semester of 2017, the "Röhre", a large event hall at the student cafe, can also be used.
The examination board of our department is responsible for all examination-related matters of the students. The main aim is to clarify situations and find solutions that are not adequately covered by the examination regulations. Here we see ourselves as building bridges between the examination regulations and the Commission for Teaching and Studies, which - in contrast to our short-term and temporary solutions - always strives to adapt the study regulations to changing circumstances.
For the first semester students who start their studies in the winter semester, we organize a maths bridging course to refresh your maths knowledge before you start your studies and to get to know your fellow students before you start your studies. The course always takes place in the last two weeks before the start of the semester. You can find the official site here.
