Department council

The deparment council is the decisive body at the institute. He decides on the concrete implementation of teaching at the department (whereby chairs, etc. are a matter for the faculty), the financial plan of the institute, appointment committees, personnel matters and the like. Student members have voting rights and can veto everything.

The department council consists of 7 professors, 2 scientific employees, 2 employees for technology, service and administration and 2 students.

The department council is elected by everyone at the institute in their respective status groups. The election usually takes place together with the elections to the faculty council. It is elected every two years.

At the first, constitutive meeting, the director of the institute and the deputy director for teaching and learning are proposed and elected by the members of the council.
